9.2.1 גבולות - כללי

ב- HTML אנו עושים שימוש בטבלאות, על מנת ליצור גבולות מסביב לטקסטים. 

באמצעות מאפייני הגבולות של CSS אנו יכולים לעצב גבולות אלו ולהגדיר להם אפקטים מיוחדים, סגנון וצבע ייחודיים.

לגבולות ישנן מספר מאפיינים הניתנים לשינוי: 

1. עובי 
   
2. סגנון 
   
3. צבע

לכל אחת מפאות האובייקט -מעלה, מטה, ימין ושמאל - ניתן לקבוע גבול בצבע, עובי וסגנון שונים. 

תכונות של גבול אינן באות בהורשה לפיכך צריך לציין מאפיינים לגבול עבור כל אובייקט בנפרד.

הטבלה הבאה תציג את המאפיינים העיקריים ואת תמיכת הדפדפנים בכל מאפיין (IE=אקספלורר, F=פיירפוקס, N=נטסקייפ). המספרים בעמודות הדפדפן, מציינים את הגירסה הראשונה התומכת של הדפדפן.
